Privacy
The short version: there are no accounts and no tracking cookies, your answers stay on your device, and we only count visits anonymously.
This page covers every Hexacter product:
- the personality test, plus its SG, Work and Parents editions
- Hexacter Heroes
- Hero Spell & 听写
- Maths Sprint (your level and the sums you found tricky are kept in this browser)
- Oral Coach (recordings stay only in memory and vanish when you leave; only a count of practices is kept in this browser)
- 成语 & 好词 Cards (only which cards your child knows is kept, in this browser)
- Parent Dashboard (reads the other apps' saved practice in this browser, read-only; stores nothing itself)
- Shadow Guess (only a count of rounds played is kept, in this browser)
- Dad Bank (a pretend bank, no real money. Kept in this browser; if you turn on Family sync, an encrypted copy is stored on Cloudflare so your family's devices can share it. It's locked with your secret family code on your device first, so the stored copy can't be read without the code, by us or anyone else. "Delete the online copy" in Family sync removes it from the server straight away)
- Ready for Primary School (stars and the 字卡 album are kept in this browser only; the shapes of characters for tracing are loaded from this site, which fetches any it doesn't have from the open hanzi-writer-data package, without sending anything about you)
- Puzzle Quest (puzzles are made on your device; only your place in a round and a count of puzzles cracked are kept, in this browser)
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. There's no sign-up, no email, no name, no tracking cookies and no advertising. Your answers, progress and recordings are never sent anywhere.
Anonymous visit counts
To know whether anyone finds the site useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare already hosts this site, so it sees each page request anyway; the analytics just counts them. It uses no cookies, doesn't follow you to other sites and doesn't identify you. For each page view it records the page address, the site you came from, your browser type and your rough country. A shared-result link contains its result code (for example INTJ-TD), so that code is part of the address it counts. Every page's security settings allow this one service and block all other outside connections. See Cloudflare's description.
What stays on your device
To let you pick up where you left off, some things are saved in your own browser (its "local storage"). They never leave your device:

The Parents edition and Hero Spell & 听写 can read your child's Hexacter Heroes result on the same device, to show their hero. Nothing is copied anywhere else.
What leaves your device
- Share links, only if you copy and send one. They contain your type code and percentages (and a star-sign element if you chose one), and nothing else.
- Spelling backups, only if you tap "Back up progress". The file is saved to your own device; where you keep it is up to you. Voice recordings aren't included.
- Chinese stroke data. If Hero Spell & 听写 needs the strokes for a character it doesn't already have, it asks our site for that one character. Our site fetches it from a public open-source library. Only the character is sent.
- Normal web traffic. Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) receives standard request details such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages. We don't add anything to that, and we don't use it to identify anyone.
Children
Hexacter Heroes and Hero Spell & 听写 are made for children aged about 6–12. They ask for no personal details. A grown-up gate comes before the quiz, and before using a birthday for a star sign.
Deleting everything
- Quizzes: each quiz page has a "Delete my answers on this device" button.
- Spelling app: Hero Spell & 听写 has "Reset all progress" in its Settings.
- Everything at once: clear this site's data in your browser settings.
We hold no copy, so once it's deleted from your device, it's gone.
Not an assessment
Every quiz here is for fun and self-reflection only. It is not a psychological, clinical, educational, hiring or parenting assessment.
Last updated 7 October 2026. If we ever add accounts, email or anything that stores data on a server, this page will change first, and you'll be asked before anything is collected.
